I'm getting a critical diagnostic Partner #: Partner SSN/EIN is missing (ref. #1042)
It seems to be due to marking a partner FINAL in 2024. The partner isn't in the partner list (screen 7) but a blank K-1 appears when I form out the return. I found a work around by unchecking "final" in 2024, proforma, and delete the partner in 2025, but I've already spent several hours working up some of these partnerships and don't want to redo them. Anyone know of a backdoor fix?
Switch to batch input and see if there is something entered for that blank Partner.
Thanks for the quick reply. No that doesn't work. I called tech. They said to go to Settings, Setup, Subclient Addition and choose: "First available slot" instead of Append to end. I then need to move an existing partner to partner #1. This works for small partnerships, but I believe creates some chaos with larger partnerships that have multiple finals. I've never had this issue in earlier versions.
