Certain clients do not have the option to reset their password on the https://link.intuit.com site. My client forgot her password and attempted to have a code sent to her e-mail address. Once she entered the code, she was prompted to enter her password or contact customer support. There was no "I forgot my password" option.
I contacted customer support on behalf of my client and was told there was no way to have a password reset e-mail sent to the client. So I promptly hung up and called to speak to a different agent.
The next agent was more helpful. However, it took him a long time to get authorization from his supervisors to send the client a password reset e-mail. This was an hour long phone call! This is not acceptable and Lacerte needs to provide a better way for clients to reset their password.
I hope this issue gets resolved soon, as I am sure many others are experiencing the same thing.
