Lacerte W2 import

I am trying to import the W2 into Lacerte electronically. I put in the Fed-ID and I get the correct employer name. Then, I put in the Control number, Box 1 contents and the SSN, I get the following error:

"An error occurred attempting to store tax import data for tax preparer retrieval..."

I have tried it multiple times and checked the numbers are right. I still get the same error. Please advise.

Get a copy of w2 from client and input it manually.

What is the point paying for professional tax software if it makes one input data manually, which highly error-prone?!?!?
