For the 3rd week in a row, I have been prevented from e-filing returns on Friday morning because the program suddenly registered that there is a newer version of Lacerte available. I was able to e-file returns earlier in the morning, but around 10:30am AZ time it stopped.
Is there any way to know in advance when these updates will be available? I can schedule my team to all be out at that time to have IT push the update and reboot our computers, but their regular overnight guy doesn't work Friday nights so we can't just push it after hours on Friday night like we could if the update came out on Thursday night. Even Friday morning before business would be doable if we knew in advance.
Is there any way to know in advance so I can stop losing my Friday afternoons?
No. They push an update very quickly when they find out the last update screwed something up. GENERALLY late Wed or early Thurs. I see them often on Tuesday.
Given what you say, I would push any available update at end of day on Thursday and cross your fingers.
