Is Lacerte primarily a single core application like Quickbooks?
Looking to replace hardware and, and just learned that for the most part, Quickbooks is a single core application, and need to know if Lacerte is the same way. If they are single core, I would be looking for processors with the highest speeds vs cores. Installation only states a requirement of a dual core 2.4ghz, which I would not consider for running anything other than web browsing.
Yes.
I also like to put in at least a minimum "gaming" video card for speed and memory, as compared to a more typical office spec.
Unlike Word or Excel, these Intuit programs do not load into memory and stay resident. You can't open multiple iterations. They are making live updates to the database files. This also is why an office should be hardwired and not WiFi LAN.
There are people here who seem to have adequate system specs and still get the "other process is busy" type of message. I've found Intuit doesn't release memory very well.
