In completing Form 706, Part 4 Question 11b, is there a way to answer "N/A" if the answer to Question 11a is "No"?

No, because that's how the IRS has designed the form.

Like the instructions say, 11b is to be answered only if the answer to 11a is "Yes".

You'll simply leave 11b blank if 11a is "Yes".

We are leaving question 11a blank to get a "No" answer and the software is auto loading a "No" for question 11b.  We prefer to put an "N/A" for 11b but the software does not allow us to input an "N/A". Is there another way to make the desired change?

I see where you're coming from but don't see any option for that.  If that's important to you, you could consider making a suggestion to Intuit.

Since you're paper filing, you can manually make the change in the pdf copy of the return before printing and mailing.
