The firm password is a useful tool for all types of preparer offices. Currently Lacerte claims that this function is only available to network installations with more than one seat. This is actually a false statement as I have a network installation with only one seat and there is a firm password that is added to every PDF password protected file. Now it is true that I can not edit this password, but it is there in every year that the function is available.
However, I just brought online a new windows machine and the password is now gone from my settings.
