Estate with FYE of July 31, 2025 filing allowed now?

Estate tax return (F1041) ending July 31, 2025 (DOD = August 2024.)  It has wrapped up and there is no more activity.  Can it be electronically filed now?

I don't think you can file it with a 7/31/25 year end since that has not occurred yet.

You could use 3/31/25; or wait til 4/30/25.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

That was my suspicion too Sjr. So, I called and support said that it could be filed. Thank you for responding.

I was assuming you would use the date it was wrapped up rather than the FYE end date.

And mark it as final 😁

I didn't know one could designate a short year using the closing date of the estate (if it is prior to the FYE date.)  Good idea. Thank you.
