If I'm not mistaken, it's what you could use as a secure client portal but not a replacement for secure messaging or encrypted emails.

Came across that while searching for a solution for email encryption but there's not much by way of unbiased reviews or news articles, only releases, but the National Society of Accountants apparently partners with them to provide free access to their members.

Personally, I'd rather go with a provider that's more established or consider others that have more critical reviews.

How do I know if I have other 3rd party programs that connect with Lacerte?

  • Programs that connect with Lacerte have the ability to add, read, or modify data in Lacerte.  These programs may be commercially bought or developed in-house.  For example, if you have software that does any of these functions:
    • Updates or synchronizes client contact information such as Practice Management or Document Management software
    • Creates reports of tax data from Lacerte
    • Stores documents associated with client information
    • Creates clients in Lacerte
    • Reads or updates tax data such as depreciation or trial balance
  • You do not need to add the following types of software:
    • Intuit software such as DMS, EasyACCT, Quickbooks, or any built-in features in Lacerte
    • PDF software such as Adobe or Fox-it
    • Office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Remote access software such as LogMeIn or Citrix
    • Cloud file storage software such as DropBox or OneDrive
    • Electronic Signature software such as Adobe or Docusign
  • Consult your IT professional if you are not sure.
