Does anyone know if tribal income is considered QBI? And if not, how do you override S199A deduction?

Doesn't seem like tribal income should qualify as QBI, but Lacerte is applying the 199A deduction.  There doesn't seem to be a way to override this.  The income is entered in Lacerte as "other income" (screen 14.1 not income subject to self-employment tax).

For tribal income, I would take a look at this site to see if there is any guidance there:

http://www.ncai.org/policy-issues/tribal-governance/taxation

I did try and duplicate what you are seeing in Lacerte and I am not able to. I am not getting a deduction for other income. I would make sure that Lacerte is up-to-date:

Downloading and Installing Lacerte Program Updates

Logic seems to tell me this is correct. This is sort of like income from a K-1.
I can not reproduce your result.
Maybe @Kathi_at_Intuit can look into it and @itonewbie seems be right on top of QBI developments

Answers are easy. Questions are hard!
