Can you efile a return with a deceased Child and that has no SSN

I have a tax return that had a live birth but shortly died. No SSN was obtained. Have the Birth Cert and Death Cert. Has anyone managed to e-file a return in this situation or must you send in a paper return with the attachments and hope for the best?

I may have answered my own question. Appears there is some discussion if I just took time to read the diagnostic.

So the answer is yes, you can. Put the word "Died" in the SSN cell. Then attach a birth certificate and death certificate in the usual place on Screen 4. However, you need to link it to Form 1040-Other - Do not use the obvious drop down "Birth Certificate" or it will kick out a diagnostic - counter intutive on that and no reason given by Lacerte why that is. Perhaps it will change in the future.
