Can Federal 1st quarter direct debit estimated payments still be made with the filing of the tax return if filed after April 15th? If so will this default to the date of filing and prorate from that date? Or does it need to be lumped in with Q2 and risk underpayment penalties?

1st Quarter was due on 4/15. Direct the client to https://www.irs.gov/payments to pay online now.
Re: Going to IRS Direct Pay - So if the Q1 4-15 deadline was missed Lacerte wont send the payment that was setup. Thinking that maybe the software would have a built in remedy and help us practitioners with this conundrum under the circumstances. I guess you are saying NO SUCH LUCK.
We are still figuring out Q1 for many of our clients and others are just returning their efile forms on the quarterlies we already setup as a direct debit. I have several that will get filed this week and the next. I was hoping to save the work of individually going to the web site. I am familiar and do all the time on behalf of clients but... In this case moving the tax deadline wasn't much help.
