Lacerte Updates
Whenever I update my Lacerte program, I receive the following message:
"Lacerte Tax Setup was not able to start the spc authorization installer." From my research, the "spc authorization installer" is an abbreviation for the term "software provider certificate."
I have had several sessions with Lacerte Technical Support; however, there was no solution. We did several reinstalls, cleaning out the cache, temp files and other things. I even disabled my security software, but nothing that was done was able to remedy the situation. Lacerte Technical Support did assure me that this would not interfere with preparing and e-filing returns.
The curious thing is that when I initially downloaded the 2022 program, there was no problem. It only started occurring when updates were made available and installed.
This matter also apples to updates for prior years.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
