The following diagnostic is generating:
Depreciation asset #{PrefixNum}: This asset is associated with a state that is different from the state identifier that is associated with the Schedule E. To change the state identifier for the asset, select the ""Assign entries to:"" box in the upper right of the Depreciation screen and choose the appropriate state.
Solution:
The state that is assigned to the Sch E needs to have the same state assigned to the depreciation assets that are tied to that Sch E. On the Schedule E screen select the property with the issue and make a note of what state it shows. Click the Depreciation button at the top of this screen and you will see just the assets in depreciation that are assigned to that Sch E property. You can highlight the asset and click on ""Assign entries to:"" box at the top upper right of the screen and force all the lines in this asset to the state you select or you can press Ctrl+W and modify the states listed here line by line. (Press Ctrl+W again to go back to a normal view)
