The following diagnostic is generating:
The Third Party Designee's phone number is missing or invalid. The Designee's phone number must be ten numeric digits. In client information verify the Third Party Designee assigned. Verify the firm's phone number in Client information. 1. On the Settings menu, click Options. 2. Click the Firm Info tab. 3. Verify the firm's phone number.
Solution:
Check Screen 1>Miscellaneous Info>Designee, if different If there is a Designee other than the preparer their information goes on Screen 3>Miscellaneous>Designee/IRS Discussion If nothing in 'Designee, if different' make note of Preparer and go to Settings>Options>Preparers and double click the preparer's name and make sure a valid telephone number is entered. If they are still getting the diagnostic make sure the preparer's name is not listed twice on the Preparers tab and check the Firm tab and make sure there is a phone number there as well.
