The following diagnostic is generating:
The California SOS number must be 12 digits starting with a 19 or 20. Please review the SOS number in screen 1.
Solution:
- Click on the diagnostic in the Diagnostics tab or go to Detail screen 1.
- Scroll down to the California Information section, and enter the California SOS number in the 'Sec of State File #' line.
- If this diagnostic persists after entry it's because the current number entered does not meet the states schema rules and if it is not altered it will be rejected by the state.
- Newly registered Corps, LLCs, and Limited Partnerships (LP) that now have 12-character ID and starts with the letter “B”, only enter the 11 numeric digits for now.
- If the SOS number is 7 digits long, it's actually the CA Corp # and should be moved up to the CA Corporation # field. (Screen 1 California Information section) Scorp efile needs one or the other not both, if an SOS number is entered it needs to be this format to efile.
Critical diagnostic warning, will prevent e-filing.
