The following diagnostic is generating:

An error has been made in the input for New York modifications on the Passthrough K-1's detail screen. Additions on Form IT-225 must have a valid code (e.g., EA-103). If an invalid entry has been made, the program will substitute ""999"" in the ""Number"" column to help you locate the adjustment that needs to be updated. Please review Form IT-225, Schedule A, Part 2 for adjustments coded ""999,"" and update the input with a correctly formatted modification code. If the input is not changed, this return will be rejected by the state.

Solution:

Go into batch mode and look for the wrong state on the Other New York Additions number column. In my case it had US instead of NY.
