efile: When From 6251 is being generated in the federal return, Line 1 of the Federal Income Tax Deduction Worksheet may be incorrect. Use the input code in the Modification Screen (Screen 51, Code 22) to enter the correct amount from the federal return as referenced in the worksheet. (ref. #43530)
Solution: Lacerte has a limitation in this area when AMT is being generated on the US return. For purposes of the AL federal tax deduction, an entry is needed so that the deduction worksheet will be correct. This can be done by going to screen 51, Alabama Modifications, and entering the federal tax liability in the field labeled "Federal tax liability from federal return (Part I, Line 1) [O]."
