    New Client Got Married

    Holistic Budget
    Level 1

    Hello all!

I am new to Beta testing but thought I would provide some details about a case I am working on. I have a client who got married in 2022. Here are some of the issues I ran into while trying to update the client's info:

    1. It is hard to update capital gains from last year to the projected current year.
    2. Where is the input for a new spouse?
    3. Where is the input for state taxes withheld?
    4. Where is the MFJ vs. MFS comparison?
    5. Point of concern: whenever I update a box in the W-2, it auto-recalculates, which takes a lot of time. Maybe there should be a feature to re-calc once the practitioner is done with entering in all the data?

    Which software are you using?
Generally select the person that has the most data to be the taxpayer, then add the other as a spouse.

I agree about the re-calc. We need an option to re-calc continuously or to re-calc upon completion of the edits.
