I'm not sure Rev Proc 90-8 is still in effect, but it doesn't allow much space for a logo.  Some printers won't even print in that narrow margin.  Maybe use a rubber stamp for the client copy.

1 NON-TAX MATERIAL ALLOWED IN LIMITED AREAS.

(a) On any 8- or 8 1/2-inch-wide Service or substitute form, you may print your logo, company or firm name, identifying and collation symbols, etc., in THE LEFT HALF OF THE TOP MARGIN.

(b) With the exception of the actual tax return forms (i.e., Forms 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1120, 940, 941, etc.), you may also print in the LEFT VERTICAL MARGIN and in the LEFT HALF OF THE BOTTOM MARGIN.

(c) Printing is never allowed in the RIGHT HALF OF THE TOP of the tax return form (i.e., Forms 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1120, 940, 941, etc). The Service uses this area to imprint a File Location Number for each return.

I have a separate letter on my letterhead that I add to my tax return for clients.  It would be great if we could customize the transmittal letter in PTO with additional paragraphs and our log to ease the administrative hassle of trying to provide a more on-brnd experience for out clients.

So you are altering a government form? Isn't that illegal?

Just in the Client Letter my friend. Not on the forms. Sorry didn't think I needed to explain that.

@Diegog07   You said "include the Company Logo (Practice Company not ProConnect) on the First Pages of the Return "

@sjrcpa Yes, please forgive me, it was an overlook on my part. I meant to say, Allow the Company Logo on the Client Letter.

Reasons to Allow Logos on Client Letters

1. Professional Branding

  • Including a logo reinforces the firm’s identity and professionalism. It creates a consistent brand experience across all client communications, which is critical for firms that invest in marketing and reputation.
  • Competitor platforms (e.g., Lacerte) already allow adding a bitmap logo to client letters, showing this is an industry-standard expectation. [accountant...intuit.com]

2. Client Trust and Perception

  • A branded letter looks official and trustworthy. Clients often associate a polished presentation with competence and reliability, which can improve client confidence in the firm’s services.

3. Differentiation and Competitive Advantage

  • Many tax professionals in the Intuit community have noted that other software includes logos on first pages or letters, making ProConnect appear less customizable by comparison. Adding this feature would help ProConnect stay competitive. [accountant...intuit.com]

4. Operational Efficiency

  • Without this feature, firms resort to manual workarounds (e.g., attaching separate letterhead documents), which adds time and complexity. Allowing logos directly in ProConnect saves time and reduces errors. [Re: Allow...on Update) | Outlook]

5. Client Experience

  • A branded client letter feels personalized and aligned with the firm’s image, improving the overall client experience and satisfaction.

Compliance Note

  • Adding a logo to the client letter is safe because it does not alter government forms. This distinction was clarified in community discussions:
“Just in the Client Letter… Not on the forms.” [Re: Allow...he Returns | Outlook]
  • IRS restrictions apply only to official tax forms, not to accompanying letters.
