Lacerte's web site indicates that the PA Local EIT form was released Jan 7 2026. However it is not available in the 1040 program (filing instructions and tax summary are available). This is a huge headache for our firm. If you are in the same boat, please contact Lacerte support asap. This glitch should be an easy fix. Hopefully so.
I called customer support last week and then again yesterday (1/28). Was on the phone over 2 hours and was told to call Right Networks ( because I am cloud based) as since the local EIT was released must be something wrong with software. Called Rightnowars and was told I had to call back to Lacerte Customer Support. I did and was on the phone for another 2 1/2 hours. Finally they said the form was not released and that their website saying it was incorrect. I asked who to speak to because if their website it was released and it is not who is working on getting it released?
Almost every return that I prepare has the local return and can not complete anything unless I print form from local tax bureau and manually fill it out. It does seem like that it should be an easy fix as the form does not change from year to year. Who do I reach out to. Normal Customer Support said they can not help me when I ask about when it will be released.
Anybody have any idea on who to call to escalate this problem?
Our firm's temporary solution... we are using Lacerte 2024 to force the local amounts, print, manually white out "2024" at top right of form, and update with "2025". Extra time for most tax returns. I will be requesting a partial refund from Lacerte after April 15th.
