We have encountered numerous processing errors by the IRS on the paper-filed forms. Their staff reads the form and manually keys in the amounts from the form and this can introduce errors. This year they have made errors on 3 of the 10 forms we filed. We believe that e-filing would eliminate many of those errors. It is a simple form that doesn't need to integrate with other forms. Even Drake offers e-filing of that form! An IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service rep agreed that there have been many more errors recently, possibly due to turnover at the service centers.
