CO is never open for filing (efile or paper) at the same time as the IRS. Where I worked for the last 7 years we filed the Federal, marked the State as "hold" but billed the client to avoid any price changes, and when CO opened we changed the status to efile and sent it. The filing center recognized that the Federal had been accepted and filed the State. I have no idea how Intuit handles that.
