They filed MFJ in 2020.  They both received equal payments of the advanced child tax credit in the second half of 2021.  If I move all of the dependents to the spouse's separate 2021 return, the software triggers an additional $2,550 Additional Child Tax Credit and an added Recovery Rebate Credit of $2,100.  This creates a $4,000 MFS benefit.
