It sounds like you need to talk with support. If you are getting that message, it tells ME that you have already filed a return for that person. 

You can not DELETE a return.

One more possibility is to look at the PROFILE to see if there are check marks for e-filing amended returns. If so, remove the check mark. Some other users have encountered this problem.
