						I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager and was told they'll say the same thing. When I insisted they said I'd be called back in 24 to 48 hours. Of course, after the pre-order pricing expires. I was told if I pre-order I can cancel as long as it's before Dec 27.

In the past this has been an issue with Intuit - They are on a fiscal year, due to expire this weekend - that seems to trigger a price change on the calendar year product. Maybe @Anonymous can get an employee to comment on your situation.
For me regardless of price, I would stay with Lacerte. PCT has "the cloud", but takes way more user time to process a return.
