While preparing a 2020 IRS Form 990, and entry was erroneously made on Page 7, Part VII, Section A, in Column C in the "highest compensated employee" column. This column is only to be used when a listed employee has reportable compensation of $100,000 or more. In this case, no one was paid $100,000.00 or more. However, an "X" was entered in the column as the return was being prepared, which caused Schedule J to be activated for the return.
Upon review, the erroneous entry was corrected so that no entries appeared in the "highest compensated employee" column. Attempts to remove Schedule J from the file have proven unsuccessful. Highlighting the Schedule J and entering "Control W" has failed to remove Schedule J. Highlighting Schedule J and Selecting "Forms" drop down menu to select "Remove Schedule J" has failed to do so.
Does anyone have a solution for removing 2020 IRS Form 990, Schedule J from a return in process?
