Have client confirm they have no other outstanding tax debts - like to the state - I had a client swear he didn't get the EIP, we put it on return, IRS took it off, then miraculously client got a letter from IRS saying he had a state tax warrant and the EIP was sent directly to state. Both he and the IRS were correct - it just got diverted along the way.
