It's not just you. I've had to go into my data folder a few times to retrieve files that were missing from the homebase list.

Do any of you see .tmp file in you data folder?
Are both the Data file and the .cache still in the data folder?

@Bert I will be of no help as I had to re-enter my 2 clients from scratch again. I could not afford to spend 4324532 hours on the phone waiting for CSR.
I will keep my eyes open if it happens again.

Close out of ProSeries entirely, then open the 20I file directly from the Windows file explorer.
