I have several clients getting a CP53E notice saying the IRS couldn't direct deposit their 2025 refund when there was no refund due the client.
One client had an overpayment that we applied to their 2026 estimates & the other client had a balance due on their return.
Anyone else seeing this?

The cuts at the IRS has staffing down to three people, a cat, and a dog. They are all doing their best, but the cat and the dog really struggle trying to use a computer keyboard.

I'm disappointed that the dog is having a tough time with the computer, understandable that the cat is distracted by the mouse.
