I'd like to go with Drake if doing Partner returns now is efficient and feature complete because of the lower price, but don't know how much pain we'd experience. Tax Planning is important to us, so is speed and ease of workflow.

Go with UltraTax.

I've seen MANY comments that Drake is great for 1040s, but struggles with entities (and multi-states).  Based on the amount of entities you do, UltraTax is what you want.  It is expensive, but I think you'll regret getting Drake due to the large number of entity return that you prepare.
