If Basic had all of the features as Professional, there would be no need for Intuit to make two separate programs.  The purpose of Professional having more items is to have preparers want to 'upgrade' to get those features.

Basic has never supported NOLs and the comparison page has ALWAYS said that.  If this is the first time you are "officially" hearing that, you must not looked at why there are two different programs (Basic and Professional) and randomly choose Basic without looking into the differences.
