Does anyone know how to get a 2010 S Corp tax return. A client needs to file one so can close the S Corp.

You could try E-bay for a copy of Turbo Tax. link, https://www.ebay.com/itm/285384940757?_skw=2010+Turbo+Tax+for+S+Corp&itmmeta=01K3901GP4N3R7PR335944X....

There are also firms on line that will do them for you.

But it sounds like something a state requires, so are you also looking for the state form?  Which state?

California?

@BobKamman You're right Bob. Some states also require a copy of the federal 1120S return, or portion thereof, to be enclosed with the state S Corp return.

CA requires more paperwork to close the corporation. https://www.ftb.ca.gov/about-ftb/newsroom/tax-news/june-2020/closing-a-california-business-entity.ht...

I think most states that "give birth" to a corporation have similar hoops to jump through.

Thank you. I was able to download and install 2010 1040 program. Am I able to download the 1120-S eventually? I keep getting a server error which does not let me download 1120-S program. I appreciate your assistance.

If there’s no or minimal activity, I’d download a pdf and paper file.

@Skylane "If there’s no or minimal activity, I’d download a pdf and paper file."

I'm fairly certain it has to be paper filed, no matter how it's prepared.

I'm trying to dissolve an Arizona corporation where the dysfunctional Department of Revenue is asking for a 2018 quarterly payroll return that was probably a zero-balance quarter and in any case would not have reported more than $20 tax owed.  Taxpayer records weren't kept that long.  The Corporation Commission will dissolve it anyway, administratively, if the annual $45 fee is not paid.  Takes more time, but costs less. Sometimes it's best just to let the bureaucracy collapse of its own weight.

@BobKamman

You're probably right that paper file is mandatory. OP seemed to be having trouble making the software work... was just suggesting a paper and pencil approach...

Sounds like  AZ DOR is as screwed up as NJ.   Misery loves company.

SC DOR gets my vote for the best (most helpful) DOR....NY, the worst
