Laplink PCMover Ultimate edition. This is at least the third time I have used this for a complete computer upgrade.

Just worked for me a couple of weeks ago, I have programs back to 2001 which transferred over. (No reinstall process was needed for any)

(None have any tax files attached except the last couple, as I delete them periodically) Obviously I have not opened all of these, just a couple of the more recent to check if they opened. Now Logic tells me I am never doing another 2002 tax return, but they are not causing me any trouble so why not let them sit there.

Also Quickbooks has a reputation for being hard to transfer, but I have various versions back to 6.0. and all of them transferred and are usable. I used to have clients without payroll who had no reason to update QB and just kept using older versions so  I kept them too.
