Thanks for the notice. We have only one client who files this as a standalone. Their return was filed, without SSN, in mid-February. I just checked online and their refund was deposited directly on March 26. It's possible that the clients noticed the error and filled in the missing SSN, but I don't think I'll contact them to ask. You should check the status of your clients' refunds, before suggesting they file another return. And, if filed recently, they may still be in processing.
It wouldn't be difficult for AZDoR to find and fill out the missing SSN based on name, address and filing history. The "nice lady" you talked to probably works down the hall from the people who do this, but sits at a different table during coffee breaks.
