Hi Folks. Appreciate the feedback. I print to paper very few tax returns, as most clients want the PDF mailed to them in a secure email (and that email a secure password protected tax return really never works right for me either---maybe I'm the problem). When I prepare a tax return, from time to time I will insert my own notes and reminders of various types about certain entries I am making on the return that I want to remember later. Those notes I enter are for me when I prepare future returns, and not for the client. And I can tell the software to apply those notes only to a "preparers copy." So, I like to print to a pdf the preparer's copy, so that I have those notes for future reference.
But regardless of that, what makes absolutely no sense to me is this: a) I can print a pdf of the filing copy and it will print the entire return fine (federal, state, letters, invoice, etc) b) I can print a pdf of the client copy and it will print the entire return (federeral, state, letters, invoice, etc.) fine--most of the time; and c) I can print a pdf of the preparer's copy, and it will almost always give me the printer errror code 10502 and only produce the pdf of the federal return.
I was on the phone with pro series tech for an hour the other day, and no real explanation, but we did uninstall and reinstall pro series, and that seemed to fix things. However, a few returns later back to same issue. Later solution seems to be that when I am getting read to print to pdf, at bottom I can select "choose what forms print" and click uncheck all, and then click "check all". When I do that, and then print, it is working fine. Crazy odd.
