Technically EFTPS existed before that, but I'm the only non-business I know who ever used it. The sign up process was antiquated (fill out this form, wait for the post office to deliver you a PIN, log in with the PIN and set a password. Oh by the way, if you change bank accounts you have to register all over again with a different login, a different PIN that has to be mailed to you, and a different password.) Not exactly something a client could do on April 13th in time for an April 15th payment!
But with IRS Direct Pay, I'm a Believer. 🙂 Had a client with a balance due come in for signatures today and he wanted to pay by EFT. I walked him through Direct Pay on my computer.
