I did the same thing....kind of.....earlier this week, I selected only the federal and state returns unchecked the RITA.pages...and it worked.....today, that workaround is not working....but your workaround appears to be working, separate pdfs for federal and OHIO......I don't want to have to do this on all of these returns.  Hopefully they fix it soon.  thanks!
