I don't see a problem with downloading it now, just with using it now.  What's the difference between buying a car without lug nuts, then taking it back to the factory to have them installed, and buying a car after the factory has noticed they are missing and installed them before sale?  (As long as you keep the car in the garage and only test the wipers and turn signals.)
