File synchronization software almost never works with Intuit products. For one reason, you have too many utility files. Unlike Word or Excel, there is linked record activity, locked records while someone is doing screen inputs, etc. Also, there is some housekeeping done for managing the links between the files, so that "client files" are still attached to the client.
Also, you don't want to work wireless in the office. I'm not referring to WiFi internet. I'm referring to having multiple computers in the office, using common files. You want to bring in the laptop and, as noted, dock or plug in ethernet. That's because wireless does "time slicing" and again, unlike Word or Excel, the work you are doing is not completely loaded into memory. The utility and record-linked files are trying to track and stay updated.
Carbonite and Mozy and Dropbox are examples of mirroring or synchronization that often fail. You get the message that you have conflicting versions, for example, with Dropbox. There is another service called Box that has worked somewhat.
The Windows backup and copy tools also are only file handling tools, not relational database management tools. That's why you will see the instructions for using the actual program to run a Backup and Restore client files, because Pro Series wants to recreate indices and preserve or repair links.
