I was reading the discussion exchange from 2020 and 2021 about the fact that Form 8992 is not a part of the ProSeries Professional package, back then.  Nowhere did I see any input from ProSeries or Intuit on this topic.  Well, we have the same issues today, in July 2023 for tax year 2022 returns.  Does ProSeries even care about the needs of the customers?  Where is their input?

Nope.

I'm surprised it even has 5471.

ProSeries and TurboTax are based on the same 'tax engine'.  Unless a form is commonly used by Turbo-Taxers, ProSeries is unlikely to get it.

@Sharp  did you get your Form 8992 resolved?

I need to prepare a Form 8992 for year 2023.  If it is not supported by Proseries, just wonder if we can attach the form to the return.

Yes, I have prepared 8992 outside ProSeries and attached the same as pdf for both 2023 and 2024. Had to manually input the income resulting from 8992 into 1040. It is ridiculous that the Intuit is so negligent about something that tax professionals need. The software is incomplete without that and may be many others like 8992 which are not part of the software.

Hi @hvakharia Thanks for posting in the community and sharing your feedback. We understand how important it is for tax professionals to have all necessary forms available in the program. We’ll share this with our development team. In the meantime, you can check the Idea Exchange to see if a similar request exists or add your own.
