I have a client who received a refund from Georgia on her 2020 return. Georgia has made the decision to no longer mail Form 1099-G. The taxpayer is supposed to go online and see/download it. When we go online with the client, Georgia says that they have no record of any 1099 forms for the taxpayer.
ProSeries is giving me an error on the federal return because there must be an EIN for the Georgia 1099-G. Evidently, a number of states have opted to make that an issue.
Long story short, I have two options.
1. I can just delete the refund from the Carryover Worksheet and eliminate the 1099-G and thus error. Since the client does not itemize, the refund is not significant to the return.
2. I can hope that someone on this site has a Georgia 1099-G from which they can give me the EIN.
