I just bought a gaurd dog to gaurd my client files at night. Can I deduct his food on my tax return? He weighs 150 pounds so he really eats a lot, and it is getting really expensive to feed him. What about the cost of his flea collar? Nail trim? Pink bows for his head?
Wasn't this a much better question that when is form 7203 or 8915F going to be ready? You need to spice things up a little and have a little variety in the questions here to keep everybody interested so they keep coming back.

Good point. I might have to rethink my plans. Has anybody ever used a blind squirrel as a gaurd animal?

More importantly for a 150lb guard dog is the automated pooper scooper and disposal system. Does that qualify for Bonus depreciation and/or Section 179?

I was just going to expense it. Do you mean I have to capitalize all $10,000 of it?
