The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a refundable federal income tax credit that is available to individuals with low- to moderate-income levels. The EITC helps low- and moderate-income individuals who are employed; by providing them with a much-needed financial boost.
According to the IRS, in 2019 alone, more than 26 million taxpayers received around $63 billion from the credit, bringing an average of almost $2,500 per family. It is also a source of great angst with the IRS due to significant fraud.
This special one-hour program with attorney Eric Green (Tax Rep Network) will review the requirements preparers must follow, what happens when a preparer is targeted by the IRS and what to do (and not do) if you want to avoid being dragged in front of the Office of Professional Responsibility (“OPR”), Criminal Investigation, or both.

· Understand the requirements for preparers to prepare EITC claims.
· Identify issues auditors will look for during an EITC audit.
