All the 940 e-filings were rejected. When I go to the e-file audit trail, it states that nothing needs to be changed except form needs to be refiled when e-filing is open. But form 940 e-filing is currently open. Has anyone else received these messages? It also states that banking information is missing but all the returns have a $0.00 balance due. I can't even find where to enter banking information for form 940. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Under bank reconciliations you go to bank accounts and enter the information there. Then when you go to the 940 2nd screen you mark it as refund and it will allow you to choose the bank account. All of my 940s got rejected even though they were marked as apply to next return. I am going to attempt to file mine after the e-file opens again and see what happens.
Same issue I had with the filing. I selected apply to next return as well and all have been rejected. I still haven't received confirmation on my 941's either. Usually I receive email confirmation of acceptance shortly after I send electronic file, but not this time. This program is a disaster.
when exactly is the e-filing opening for the 940? I thought it already was. I just checked all the ones I processed yesterday and the 941s are still pending and the 940s were all rejected. This is so frustrating.
All of mine were rejected as well. The format is wrong for the banking information so EasyAcct needs to be updated ASAP!!! Also, we shouldn't have to put banking information on a return! All of mine are paid in full, so listing banking information is pointless! I still have not received confirmation on all my 941's filings. It says "Pending" which is concerning. If I have to resubmit all those, I am going to scream!!!
All of the 940s I filed rejected as well for the same reason. None of them had a balance due or a refund. Putting banking information in should only be required when necessary. This year's version has been a complete mess.
This happens every year, you would think if 941's are accepted so would the 940. I keep checking on an update, I have the current version. Yes, this is frustrating when you just want to complete the year end.
Have you received email confirmations that the 941s were received and accepted? I haven't. I have filed many 941s and haven't received one email confirmation.
My 941's haven't been accepted yet and I filed them a week ago.
Has anyone called EasyACCT about this yet?
Feel free. The more people that call the better.
I thought about it. But I assume they are being flooded with calls and I don't have time to sit on hold for hours.
Based on my previous years of experience, the filing won't be opened after the 15. I usually wait after the 15 to file.
The problem isn't with the filing being open. It's an EasyAcct issue.
They said that they have the update yesterday, but I don't see it. I don't think we can file it until that update is rolled out.
Same here...940 rejected & 941 still pending.
I got emails excepting all my 940s with confirmation numbers, but EZ still says they were all rejected.
I still have not received any confirmations on the 941's.
I can see it now we are all going to be getting IRS letters telling us we never filed our 941's 940's for 2025. Same thing that happened in 2021. I have no idea how many times I have had to send in the proof the we filed. Really don't want that to happen again.
Definitely will be changing software. I'm currently looking into different programs. This program hasn't been that great for a while, and this years update is a complete disaster. You would think for the cost of this program they'd test before releasing updates and have form availability completed in a timely manner but the 940 has been an issue the last two years.
Definitely need to start now, so you have time to transfer everything over. I mean I have 100 clients, with anywhere from 1 - 55 employees. It will be a headache at first, but this year end mess each time is not worth it. As well as half that things you can't do with this program, like pull a report from just the PAY DATE, or having an email address for employees or emergency contact info.
Hello! At this time, Form 940 can’t be e-filed in EasyACCT. If you receive an Error 54 message this indicates that e-file for 940s is not yet open for the program. For the rejection, there’s no action needed regarding banking information. We understand this creates additional challenges, especially during a busy filing period. An update will be released for EasyACCT and then it will be necessary to resubmitted. The community will be updated as soon as that update is available.
I agree. I will not switch client books to QB. I use QB desktop for my own firm and will not switch to QB online. It is the most un-user friendly software, and very costly. Very disappointing all around.
This is so true
What about the 941's
same here
Yeah. I'm not sending my clients banking information on the form for no reason. This appears to be a programming issue.
I haven't received any so far. E-filed 40ish so far and all pending.
Only acknowledgements we received are the 940 rejects for banking information issue.
Hello, Thanks for posting in the Community and we appreciate the patience. Please install the update release yesterday and resubmit the 940s. We have had confirmation on other posts that 940s have been accepted.
