I am preparing 1099s in the information return system and companies I have prepared are disappearing from my files. I have limited the number of files pep folder on my drive but files still disappear. Anyone have any ideas why?
Are they disappearing from your list of clients or are they disappearing from your hard drive? Have you looked in your computer's file explorer to see if they are in the program's data file?

Then the good news is, you didn't lose them. I don't know if that program has a feature to maintain the "homebase view", but if you have the program open and click on a client in the data folder, does it restore the client to your view in the program?
