Hopefully the following helps those trying to do 1099s in the 2025 Information System. I did a 1099-NEC today (01-09-2026) for one client, who only had one 1099 to issue. I did get an error message about the company address when I tried to create the electronic file. I had to remove the # from the company address and put in the word Unit. Once I did that the electronic file was created and I was able to upload it to the IRS Fire System. I probably could have used No. instead of Unit, but the hashtag would not work. I did this 1099 today after updating to the most current version 2025.2.02. I don't know if the number sign would have been a problem in the recipient's address, but it was a problem in the Company's (Payer) address.

Yesterday I had an address error message. I changed Rd. to Road and it worked.
