It seems totally unfair for an amount from the 8915F to affect the premium tax credit. But, I guess in the prior year it also increased the credit due to the decreased income. Does this seem right or am I missing something? Thanks

There's still time for them to pay it back and reduce the taxable amount on the 2021 return...

Anything that uses "MAGI" means you would need to look up what is included as MAGI, if you want to confirm the program is doing it right.
