Tax preparers should continue to prepare and file their clients’ taxes as normal. For those who prepared and filed their taxes with Intuit® ProConnect™ earlier today, we are now submitting those returns to the IRS and are currently processing newly filed returns as normal. Today the IRS announced that they are having technical difficulties accepting e-filed returns. Intuit will continue to hold and timestamp e-filed returns. These returns will show as “Received by Intuit,” and we will send them to the IRS as soon as e-file is available again. Returns submitted before midnight today are considered timely filed. We will keep you updated as soon as we receive additional information from the IRS. Please check back with the Tax Pro Center for the latest information.
