Let’s jump right in with Langley for a look at ProConnect Tax and AI Client Briefing.

Langley, welcome!

Langley Barth: Hey, Jaclyn, Thanks so much for having me on today. I’m really excited to present this to you, so let’s jump right in. 

ProConnect Tax is a cloud-based professional tax software; it’s built on the Lacerte Tax engine on the Intuit platform. What that means is that it includes native integrations with QuickBooks Online Accountant and  QuickBooks Online, and includes built-in advisory software.

Before we jump into our topic, let me give you a little bit of context. Every year, I talk to several hundred accountants, and when I ask them what their superpower or competitive differentiator is, about 75% say it’s  their ability to scale personalized and easy-to-understand support to their clients. I think that is hugely important. One of the key missions with ProConnect moving forward is empowering tax pros to scale these personalized experiences, and allow a firm to save time and money. I also know that as you grow as a firm, it becomes even tougher to maintain those relationships with clients, so we’ll be working hard to ensure we can help you deliver that experience.

Let’s move forward with the AI Client Briefing. In these conversations with accountants, we heard that pre-meeting preparations are really time-consuming and sometimes take upwards of two hours. We’re hoping to give back that time to your firm, because we know time is at a premium … so our team created an AI-powered client briefing tool. It pulls from 60 different unique data points within the return to give you a detailed summary of each given client’s tax situation, so that you’re prepared and you can still scale that personal touch to every client.

Hopefully, it can save you some time and allow you to potentially offer higher value services such as advisory. 

Fast facts: 

• This feature is for tax accountants.
• Open ProConnect Tax, select clients, and then select the client you’ll be working with. Last, just click the blue button to generate a client snapshot.
• This feature recently launched in the US.

Now, let’s see what it looks like. Many pros that I talk to get a little bit nervous about AI features. No worries; this one’s quite simple. So here you are on the client page. Prior to your meeting with a client, you generate a client snapshot, and what comes out will be a really detailed summary that will allow you to talk through any given clients’ tax situation, whether it is a simple client or a complex client. We have you covered here. So the aim of this feature is to scale that personalized touch and save your team some time.

So, this tool, in terms of AI capabilities, is really just the tip of the iceberg for ProConnect, which already has a lot of built in automation and data import capabilities that are really powerful. We’re hoping these features can help you out come tax season. On top of that, advisory software is built into ProConnect, so whether you want to bring in an extra revenue source with advisory services or just trying to provide a top-notch experience to your clients, it will help position you as a trusted advisor.
